The co-star of the Cheech and Chong empire has long been a staple of American cannabis culture. After rising to fame in the 1970s as one half of the pot-smoking comedy duo Cheech and Chong, Tommy became one of the leading cannabis legalization activists in the United States and world. He also founded visionary brands in the cannabis industry, including Chong Glass.
Tommy’s friend, the glassblowing luminary Jason Harris, founder of the storied Jerome Baker Designs (JBD), share an infamous history. At the height of their success, Chong Glass and JBD found itself at the center of an investigation by the Justice Department called Operation Pipe Dreams. This sting operation ended with federal felonies for all in involved, and the end of an era.
But that’s ancient history. As legalization sweeps the nation, Tommy’s legacy lives on and a new era begins. With Tommy’s full support, Jason hatched an idea to honor his friend by creating 20 Chong Bong replicas, which are individually crafted pieces designed and blown by the world-class artists at JBD.
Each Chong Bong comes in a Special Limited Edition bag and box with a matching slide and nug jug.
Stephen worked along side JBD’s stellar glassworking crew, including Omar Rosalles, Chris Cambell, and Ryan Paris to create this bong—a piece of fine art—that casts a new legacy. Jason Harris dreamed up this project to honor The Great Tommy Chong, and their shared history of creating glass for the community of connoisseurs… the heads, the stoners, the dreamers..
Set your gaze on Tommy peering back at you through the marble encasement. Get lost in his eyes… (OK, that’s enough.)
And finally, as Tommy always says, remember:
"When you smoke marijuana, you are in the moment and you are happy. You forget about any worries of the past or the future."
